I'm here with a stash of smart strategies and nifty tools ready to boost your nonprofit's impact. Let's get started! π¬ SummaryThis week, we're diving deep into several intriguing topics. π π΅οΈββοΈ One Challenge - To publicize or to not publicize large donations? π One Problem - Strategies for Publicizing Large DonationsToday we're diving in headfirst into a question that was recently asked in 'Your Thriving Nonprofit' Facebook group, one that got us thinking about etiquette when it comes to donors. The question was "If your smallish nonprofit (annual budget of $500k - $1MM) received an anonymous donation of $100,000 - would you publicize it? In hopes of reaching the donor to extend your thanks? Or not, thinking that it might discourage "typical" donors. Ya know, the ones that donate $50 or $100 or maybe $200?" Our thoughts? Deciding whether to publicize a large anonymous donation is a strategic decision that depends on several factors, including your nonprofit's culture, the preferences of your donor base, and your long-term fundraising strategy.
